glass_ofchianti: (Hmm)

When was the last time you shaved your legs? Last summer, and I think I'm the only one other than Jadzia not answering that in sarcasm. It wasn't unpleasant at all, in fact I enjoyed the smoothness. It's not comfortable when it grows back, however.
What were you doing this morning at 8? I was at my computer, working on a paper for school.
What are you wearing right now? How detailed shall I be? I'm wearing my dress slacks, but I've removed my button-up so I'm simply in an undershirt on top. I'm not expecting visitors at this hour.
Are you mad at anyone right now? Always, but it's the sort of 'mad' that is more of a dull hate at all times.
The last two people to say they loved you? My mother and sister.
Kissed someone in the last 24 hrs? No, not that recently.
Are you happy with your living arrangements? At least I have a window and free reign to walk about the hospital; it's more than should be reasonably given to someone so questionable.
Last thing received in the mail? Bills from my school. Isn't it "in" to go paperless, though?
Have you ever been searched by the cops? Yes, I have. I was then taken to prison on two occassions. It's not all that exciting, actually.
Are you any good at math? I should think so.
Are you taken for granted? I shouldn't think so.
Have you ever been awake for 48 hours straight? I may not sleep very much, but I don't often make a point to neglect my health. Hardly 48 hours straight, in any case.
Do you like the ocean? I've never really explored one.
Did you stay friends with your ex's? N/A.
What are you excited about? Why the date in a few days!
What did you do two nights ago? Finished the research for the essay I'm currently composing, and searched (with George's help) for something online.
Are any of your great-grandparents still alive? No, they are not.
Do you remember the most naughty night of your life? What sort of 'naughty'? Does it simply have to involve breaking the law? I certainly remember.
Would you rather sleep with someone else, or alone? I've only slept with another person three times. I hardly have enough basis to form a decision off of.
Where do you want to be in 6 years? A hospital, although not this sort!
Something that you aren’t? In a hospital for physical ailments.
When is the last time you laughed? I suppose the last time I was sufficiently amused.
Last time you cried? I can't recall.
Have you ever questioned your sexuality? I did start noticing an attraction to males, and while I'd always assumed I exclusively liked women, I wasn't attached to the notion ideologically, so it didn't bother me. I don't define myself by who I feel comfortable fucking, and only somewhat by who I would have a relationship with. So 'question' may invoke the wrong feelings for my discovery that I wasn't heterosexual.
What is your greatest fear? Hmm. I suppose if my room had no windows...that would be up there.
Would you ever want to be a doctor? Why or why not? I think it's safe to assume I would like to be a doctor.
Have you ever experienced unrequited love? What did you do about it? I waited until it seemed appropriate to move on my feelings in both cases.
Do you like to drink wine? Very much so, especially red wine.
How long was your longest relationship? Four months.
What do your friends do to try to cheer you up? My therapist encourages me to talk, and my closest friend also encourages me to talk. I would say that it's making me talk, then, though it's debateable whether it's more for my benefit or theirs...

Well I know THAT. It's weird to picture you looking so laid back and casual. Will I ever get to bear witness to such a thing? ♥

Sorry, it's just alarmingly sad to realise. I'm trying to imagine it, and it's very difficult.

That's an oddly poetic response, very calculated and beautiful. I do notice that none of your reasons include 'to help people,' which I suppose isn't a bad thing, but interesting. Granted, I don't think that's Greg's reason, either.

If you would like to, yes. I can understand the fascination of wanting to see someone more undone than usual, after all. ♥

My family loving me while they were alive is hardly sad; you mentioned your mother in your answer as well.

Thank you, George! I'm flattered. And well, of course there's an interesting level to meeting new clients, but I will confess in private that I'm far more interested in understanding their bodies than emotionally caring for them. Yes, I think Gregory and I agree on that aspect.

Oh, you can? I'm sorry I'm more usually casually dressed than anything else, then...

No, that isn't the sad part. Knowing how long it's been since someone told you they loved you...that's what I found to be sad.

I suppose that's not a bad approach to caring for another person...bedside manner might suffer (I have no idea what yours would be like; I assume quiet) but it also suggests that you would be hard pressed to get something wrong, or screw up in any way, as you wouldn't be as distracted by connecting with the patient.

You can come undone in other ways.

Hmm. I suppose...it's been less time since I told someone I love them, however, so don't fret.

Exactly. My mind would be uncluttered by worry for their well-being, because I would be focused on - for the moment - seeing them simply as portraits of people driven by what I know of anatomy and physiology.

Of course, before Gregory comes in to alert me that psychological issues in my patients may affect their health, I'd like to assure him I know that and I'm simply clarifying that I'm not anticipating emotional attachments to those issues.

I have to say, I had never worried you'd get too emotionally attached to your patients, it was just a feeling I had...

--Oh? Pray tell?

...God, you just pull on my heart strings, Hannibal.

I feel like there should be some level of concern, knowing you're dealing with someone's life in some cases, but...I think that's just my own moral opinions.

Well, whenever you're being denied something you want, you seem to come a little undone.~

Please don't tell Landa; I don't want him to get confused about your meaning.

dark_horse: (Geo ~ -winkwink-)
Ah, I see. I take it you enjoy seeing that?

Telling Landa is the least of my priorities, though it's always likely he could just read this thread on his own. (I'm hoping not, going off of where our conversation is heading.)

glass_ofchianti: (Oh la la)
And listening to it.

That's always true; I have a feeling he does occassionally only lurk to watch and read, but he so loves hearing himself talk. (Has the mood changed from you pitying me, then?)

Duly noted, love... ♥

Perhaps we'll uncover some of his secrets on our double-date? (Not at all, I just would rather not smother you any. I don't quite know how you feel about discussing this, especially online.)

Perhaps, love. (I appreciate your sensitivity about this, and yes, if you're also trying to insinuate that we meet up in person sometime soon, I'm alright with that.)
